This weekly in-person yoga class combines Reiki and restorative yoga to help you unwind, release tension, and find inner calm. Through long poses supported with props, mindful breathwork, and Reiki, you'll recharge your energy and resilience. This class is offered at Yoga District, 702 9th Street in Durham.

Reiki Level 1: Awakening Your Healing Energy

Reiki is a gentle Japanese energy healing technique that can reduce stress and anxiety and support the body in healing.
This Reiki Level 1 foundational course introduces you to the principles of Reiki, which extensive research shows promotes relaxation, reduces pain, and supports well-being. Whether you're new to energy work or seeking a deeper connection to yourself and others, Reiki Level 1 offers tools for self-discovery and support during times of turmoil, hardship, and stress. This Reiki training is in the Usui Tibetan Reiki lineage.
What You'll Learn:
The History of Reiki: Understand the origins of this healing art and the legacy of its founder, Mikao Usui.
Reiki Principles: Explore the guiding principles of Reiki as a lifestyle practice to cultivate harmony and gratitude.
Energy Awareness: Learn to sense and work with your energy field and understand how it influences your physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Hand Positions for Self and Others: Learn the traditional Reiki hand positions to practice self-healing and promote inner peace.
Reiki Attunement: Receive your first attunement from a certified Reiki Master Teacher, opening your energy channels to access Reiki energy.
Practical Application: Practice giving and receiving Reiki in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Who This Training Is For:
This course is open to anyone interested in personal healing, stress reduction, or supporting loved ones through energy work. No prior experience is required—just an open heart and willingness to learn.

A certificate of completion for Usui Tibetan Reiki Level 1, which will qualify you to learn Reiki level 2-3.

Have you been curious about mindfulness meditation but unsure how to practice? Do you already have an established practice but want to practice in community? Join us for this four-week series to learn mindfulness meditation basics and how to establish a daily practice. In this series you will:
- Learn mindfulness techniques to manage stress and reduce anxiety.
-Discover how to stay present and grounded during difficult moments.
-Explore tools to regulate your own emotions, improving your overall well-being.
-Develop greater self-compassion, allowing you to care for yourself while caring for others.
-Build a mindfulness routine that fits into your busy life, creating more balance and inner peace.
Whether you are new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, this course provides a supportive, judgment-free environment where you can learn in community. By prioritizing your mental and emotional health, you can show up more fully for your community, family, and the world, at a time when your gifts are most needed. In between sessions, you’ll be offered short daily meditations to keep you rooted in your practice.

In times that feel uncertain and overwhelming, the Grief Cafe offers a moment to pause, connect, and breathe. Whether you need a safe space to share your story or simply to be among others holding similar feelings, this is a place to feel supported, seen, and held.
